On Time. On Purpose. Corporate Pickleball League

I created Corporate Pickleball League at YMCA T. Boone Pickens in Dallas — not from a boardroom, but during paternity leave. As a lawyer who bills by the hour, I know that time is sacred. We start on time, end on time — because your time matters. But it’s not just about punctuality. Every aspect of this league is intentional, from the way we structure matches, to fostering connections between corporate entities to the impact we make in our community. We play with purpose, knowing that what we do here matters beyond the court.

The leagues – Champions Leagues and Qualifying Leagues – are six-weeks, co-ed, high-efficiency competitions that brings together teams from the most reputable and respected corporations, commercial and investment banks, and architecture and law firms in the world — AT&T, Arcosa, Baker Botts, Bravo Energy Partners, Ernst & Young, Goldman Sachs, Houlihan Lokey, HKS, Kirkland & Ellis, Kirksey, PinnacleGroup, McCathern, NexPoint, Raytheon, Russell Reynolds & Associates, Wells Fargo, Winston & Strawn, Vinson & Elkins and more. Each night, teams play two matches, strictly capped at 45 minutes. The format is designed for maximum engagement: co-ed, co-ed, female, and male games, with everyone rotating through. If time runs short, we switch to rally scoring to guarantee we finish on schedule. Punctuality isn’t just a value here — it’s engineered into every detail.

But that’s only half the story. On Purpose means we’re driven by more than just competition. I wanted to build something people could be proud to join — something that gives back. That’s why a portion of every league’s proceeds supports the YMCA’s youth programs. Our first league presented $1,000 to Texas Youth & Government funding two underprivileged Dallas youths participation in 2025. Our second league seeded a new YMCA program called Y-Invest with $1,000 to teach five underprivileged Dallas youths financial literacy and build their first investment portfolio. And we are just getting started. We don’t just play to win. We play to matter.

T. Boone YMCA will host two Qualifying Leagues and one Champions League each year and we are setting our sights on expanding to other YMCAs near Dallas’s corporate hubs. But why stop there? The vision is bigger. I see a future of corporations around the world competing in local Corporate Pickleball Leagues and raising millions of dollars for YMCA Youth & Government and Y-Invest programs. Pickleball ought to thrive not just across Dallas, but in every city where there’s a YMCA — across the country, and around the world. Imagine a global network of high-performing professionals, united by competition, camaraderie, and a shared commitment to giving back — all built on the foundation of being On Time. On Purpose.

If your company has four people who play pickleball, there’s no excuse not to send a team. We’re building culture, delivering impact, and doing it all On Time.

This isn’t recreational chaos. It’s structured, inclusive, and competitive — built for dreamers and doers who value clarity, speed, and significance. It starts on time. It ends on time. It elevates your people and gives back to the community.

And it just might be the most productive 45 minutes of your week.

Sincerely,

Collin Z McVicker
